[red]You the PHW has alot of people here from many different places. The recruiting has took us throughout the world and took us to many different levels of rping talent. The PHW doesn't mind having all different levels of rping ability. Some can grow while here and others can even become better here. That is what we are trying to do here, we are trying to make greatness out of each and everyone of you. Each of you have the talent but you have to want to put in the time and effort it takes to be great. Its worth it and thats what this is for to help all of you out.[/red]
[red]You know I'm not going to set here and point fingers of whos good and whos not. This is for everyone and I will use me as example in this message. Just so the ones that don't know I am also the man they call 8BALL. I haven't put up my best work here yet so please don't hold it against me, I just don't want my guy to be the main one here. Hes just here to help push people and make them better. Now, let me get you to the story.[/red]
[blue]When 8BALL first broke into this business he was a nobody, he sucked and was at the bottom of the OWC roster. He may not have been good but when a session was over you knew he gave you a hell of a battle. Hows that you ask if he sucked? Its because he didn't quit and just because he was in a match that people said he couldn't win he still gave it his all. Hes been known to post ten or more rps in one session in a good week. So, how did he get better? By wanting and demanding matches with people who were better than him. He put in time and worked his ass off, he wasn't to big of a man and he went out and asked for help and put everything he got into his rps. Slowly, they started to get better and eventually he was main eventing. No, it didn't happen over night but it did happen. He didn't even want to be the best, didn't ask to be the best but the more he worked the closer he got to it. He may not have been the best but when people drew his name in rp sessions they knew he would keep them on their toes. Hell, some of the men right here in the PHW have beaten me but they will tell you I gave them everything they wanted and sometimes more. Ask the man called Doomsday as he was and is one of the biggest rivals I have had in this business and a man I respect. Dealer is another on, throw GForce and Anthony Phoenix on there as well. Without guys like these 8BALL wouldn't be who he is. If you want to up your game then I will give you some tips to maybe help you out. You can either take them or leave them as I'm just trying to help you.[/blue]
[green]I know one of the first questions your asking yourself is this. Why do I want to get better? Yeah, this is a hobbie and for fun but why do anything and not try to be the best you can be at it. Why take the time out of your life if you don't want nothing out of it? Take some pride in what you do and have pride in your character.[/green]
[green]Don't let yourself keep coming up with excuses. Yeah, this has something to do with rping. You see if you keep telling yourself you need to this or that instead of rping then when you do you will have the other things on your mind or you will rush and post sh*t. Take your time, relax, and give your brain time to flow with ideas. If you let your mind give you excuse then it hurts your rps and then eventually it leads to no shows.[/green]
[green]In my eyes to be a good rper there is one word you need to be. That is KNOWLEDGE. How does that help you? Easy for it makes you look better when you know what your talking about, you will have things on your opponents for weeks, months, and years, gives you alot more to speak on in your rps. How do you gain knowledge? Read through all cards, read everyones rps, get to know everything about the fed. Don't believe me then ask some of the guys around here and they will tell you knowledge works and is power.[/green]
[blue]Things That The PHW Looks For IN RPS[/blue]
[orange]1. Of course it is grammar and spelling. We dont hold it as high as some feds but it does can't[/orange]
[orange]2. Opening.....The beginning of your rps are very important as we want to know where you are, whats around you. We want to be able to put ourself in your shows right there. Describe movements, items, colors, or whatever is around you.[/orange]
[orange]3. Creativity.....This may be the most important one of them all. Use your mind and imagination here, this is what rping is all about. Same old same old in ring promos or backstage interviews are overused and we want to see different things. Its alright to use them sometimes but not for everyone of your rps.[/orange]
[orange]4. Storylines....You have some power use it. Make storylines for the life of your character. No, you might not be able to attack people in your rps but you can give them crisis, you can have anything happen to them you want. You don't have to always speak about your opponent in your promos, you don't have to always say I'm going to kick your ass blah blah blah, or I'm going to win because if thats going to happen then why even rp or write a match. Anything can happen and no one knows if your going to win for sure or not.[/orange]
[orange]5. Quality....Now, don't get me wrong I love quanity but you have to have quality with it or it equals itself out.[/orange]
[red] Now, this is not for slamming anyone or anything like that its just here for the ones who would like to get better. Also, I am online alot and if you need help I am more than willing to help you out and I'm sure alot of the guys here will too. Take what you will from this but everyone here has some talent they just need to have someone find it like I got the help to find me. Without the help in the past I would not be able to do what I do today and that is run the PHW. Thanks guys for I truely love doing this.[/red]
